Original artwork description:

This painting was inspired by a photo I took whilst visiting Florence, Italy a few years ago. I really wanted to emphasise the heat by highlighting the red brick on the building on the right hand side of the painting, and the blue cloudless sky. The temperature at the time was 33/34 degrees C or so. The Duomo is in the distance.
