"Moon Phase" is a beautiful installation of 16 frames with three-dimensional wheels made from corrugated cardboard. This installations depicts the 14 days of moon phase.....put up in a statement form.
It was in year 2010 that while packing an artwork, I got attracted by the ridges of corrugated cardboard. A strong desire to create something unique and outstanding motivated me to work with the medium. After lot of experimenting and hard work I fine tuned the technique and started creating collages and 3D sculptures and installations.
The making of "Moon Phase" installation is an elaborate process. From meticulously cutting the corrugated cardboard, to painting each piece several times and then making the artwork. A coat of clear lacquer is applied to each wheel. The wooden frames are hand painted in unbleached titanium color with a touch of metallic silver with hard brush in strokes to create the double shade effect. The base of each frame is hand painted in payne's grey color with a dash of metallic silver.
The installation consists of 16 frames with each measuring 6.5 x 6.5 x 1.3 inches. A saw tooth hanger is given at the back of each frame and these are ready to hang. The pictures show the arrangement in 4 x 4 grid. You can also put these in 8 x 2 grid or in any other order you prefer. Pictures cannot do justice to the artwork, the appearance and details are much more in person.
Each frame is signed by me at the back. A certificate of authenticity will be sent with the installation.
This unique artwork is sure to spread cheer and happiness to any room. Thanks for supporting creative pursuits of all original artists.
