A jockey adjusts his stirrups

I'm currently working on a series of larger scale jockeys and horses. These paintings are a bit more intimate getting closer to the jockey to reflect a moment.

When I'm at the races I soak up the atmosphere. The hubbub, the excitement, jockeys in their bright silks, thoroughbreds presented in perfect condition - there's a sense of anticipation in the air. Underneath their skin is bone, sinew and muscle.
