This dynamic stormy sky art monotype began as an experiment to test a new process idea. As is often the way, with the pressure off, I was able tp let loose with some powerful mark-making for the clouds with a splashing effect to suggest rain. The trees seem to be huddled in the dip on the horizon shielding themselces from the elements!

A monotype is a one-off hand-made print, just as unique as a painting. I used rollers and dabbers to spread out ink on a smooth plastic board then made marks with a cloth and other tools. The ink was transferred to the paper using a hand-operated printing press. I built up layers of over-lapping colous by printing several times.

Unmounted: It comes wrapped in cellophane on a strong board. Flat packed. Suitable for international shipping
