About TJ Miles

  • Biography
My name is TJ Miles and I have been a professional artist for over 20 years. I am Irish but now live in Andalucia in southern Spain. Mostly, my representing galleries are in Ireland, although I have had exhibitions in various countries over the years. Apart from having my own website, I have always dealt with bricks and mortar galleries, but the arrival of the coronavirus has severely reduced the ability of art lovers to buy my work directly from the physical galleries. This, I hope will reopen doors to my artworks to my many collectors, old and new, from around the world. With my paintings I work mostly in acrylics on board or canvas. My sculptures usually consist of mild steel and/or wood. I tend to run with themes and styles as opposed to one off subjects. I feel this allows me more scope with imagination instead of simply recording a scene or specific moment. My art influences would originally have been Dali, De Chirico, Hopper and others, but while these spirits hover around the edges of my artworks to offer advice from time to time, what is contained within is all my own imagination.
