The artwork was a special birthday gift. I was beyond disappointed to see both frames were damaged and one of the pieces of artwork, the ink from the signature had run. I'm not sure how the artist could have missed this and it should not have been sent out without at least checking that we would mind.
I don't understand why such substandard and cheap frames would be used! I would rather gave paid extra to have a quality frame...which I have now done. On removing the artwork from the frame, I noted also the cheapness of the mount, fortunately behind the glass it looks pretty. If I had given myself more time to purchase a gift i would have returned both pieces. I found the suggestion to purchase replacement frames from Amazon an insult, despite having the £27 for 2 frames refunded.
I will not be recommending or purchasing from this artist again. This purchase was not the pleasant experience I hoped for and whilst not the artists fault that the package was damaged, the quality of materials used certainly is.

I’m disappointed to receive such an unpleasant review from you when I have made every effort to rectify damage that happened in transit.
I packaged your two pictures thoroughly and posted them within 12 hours of your purchase and the first attempt to deliver to you was made the following day. I have packaged framed pieces and couriered them across the world and always take great care in packaging my work in multiple layers of boxing and bubble wrap. The courier made several attempts to deliver your package to you. With so many attempted deliveries the risk of damage increases. It is unfortunate that the two frames were damaged in transit, but this is a very rare occurrence.
I always check my artwork thoroughly before packaging. I do not know how the small smudge in the signature occurred.
When I was notified that the frames were damaged I immediately contacted you and offered two initial solutions of a return or replacement frames. At no point have you responded to any of my correspondence - and instead opted to contact the Artfinder team. Had you responded to me perhaps we could have found a solution you were happy with. Despite not once replying to me you’ve given me 2* for communication?
As for the frames I use - I buy ready made box frames that have stood the test of time and worked well for hundreds of artworks that I’ve sold. I upgrade the glass for these larger frames to ensure the best uv protection for my artwork. The frames I use are indeed reasonably priced, and they are wholly commensurate with the reasonable pricing of my artwork.
I am a paper artist - I use premium paper based on its quality for colour and weight and how well it can be cut. None of my materials are cheap.
