Mercédès SORET is a French artist born in 1971 in the city of Elbeuf. She grew up in Rouen and currently lives and works near Alençon.

In his works are mixed several exercises: that of oil painting on canvas and that of the reinterpretation of the main subject, which are mainly sculptures. Through a digital makeover and the addition of colors, she gives these marvels of the past a new existence in the world of contemporary art. She chose the quality of the oil to be able to work in transparency, make gradations of colors or accentuate the outlines, according to the subject which inspires her.

A piano teacher in various schools and musical associations in her native region, it was in 2006 that she decided, on her arrival near Alençon, to devote herself fully to drawing and painting, which she has been practicing since her childhood. . .

She has received awards: Public Prize at the 2011 exhibition in Falaise, Mention of Excellence at the inauguration of the Center for Art and Creation 2014 in Aulnay-sous-Bois, Mention of Honor at the 2015 exhibition at the Saphira & Ventura Gallery in New York, Prix du Conseil Départemental at the 2015 Salon de la Ville de Caen.
