About Melanie Jess

  • Biography
For me creating my art is a form of escapism from the real world of commuting, paying the bills, doing the washing etc. I am inspired by the idea and activity of collecting and forming elements of my work. Working with collage and mixed media allows me to form a narrative between different textures and objects which complete a story. The intention for a lot of my pieces is for the viewer to get lost in the story, I want them to also experience their own form of escapism from what they see.
