About Maggie Pinches

  • Biography
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Maggie Pinches studied in Cuba, Chile, Argentina and Scotland, before returning to Uruguay.  Painting became an escape for Maggie from a young age.  Her unusual childhood meant fragmented schooling across countries, where upheaval and change were a constant.  She has exhibited internationally and worked to inspire young children to express themselves through art.

Maggie's work is often inspired by moments of calm and rest and warm natural light - conveying a glimpse of a place to settle and be still.  Her work, which has been exhibited in this country and abroad, is heavily influenced by strong visual memories from her early childhood in South America.

In addition to Artfinder, Maggie's work is currently being shown at a number of locations in the UK.  It will also be exhibited in the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London at the end of November 2016 where all works will be for sale.  For more information please see
