About Katarzyna Sliwa
Biography
I was born in Poland in Oswiecim. I moved to Ireland in 2009 and it
was here that I started to draw and paint again after not doing so for
many years. In 2013 I picked up my pencil again then was pen and ink and now I am trying focus on developing my oil painting
skills. I never got any art education.
I am a self-taught artist and my work is primarily the result of my need
to create and express myself, it is both a challenge and an outlet.
My work is dark and imaginative very often includes anatomical elements, strange creatures, dreams, passing time and death. I am still experimenting and searching for my own style in both drawing and oil painting. I am very inspired by old masters artworks.
