Leanid Homanav is a contemporary Belarusian artist engaged in easel painting, mainly in the landscape genre. He is an adherent of the traditions of the realistic school of painting. Over the many years of hard work, the artist has succeeded in proving his skill in many genres and directions of fine art, but the apex of his creative search is the poetic landscape. Influenced by the artistic heritage of French impressionism, the artist prefers an intimate landscape permeated by mood which reigns supreme in this genre. Leanid Homanav’s creative work is directly related to painting on location. Participating in numerous collective open-air painting sessions and networking with representatives of other art schools continually enrich the artist’s canvases with new ideas and figurative solutions. In his paintings, the artist avoids small details, focusing instead on the general impression and nature of the beauty of the surrounding world, which, along with topical compositional solutions and a muted palette, allows him to create a unique image of the Belarusian nature, calm, majestic and peaceful.
