    More life drawing

    More life drawing

A evening session in Swansea Waterfront Museum with five clothed and nude models, some moving - some static. A large drawing in oil pastel which I've not used for many years, most enjoyable.

    You've been framed

    You've been framed

I don't often frame my work, I like the simplicity that canvases or panels have without a frame. For a commission, however, it's up to the customer - I'm making these float frames for two paintings commissioned for a birthday gift.

    Life drawing

I tend to focus on portraits when I go to life drawing sessions, especially when there's a model who is new to me.

    Art Auction

I volunteer at an not-for-profit artist run gallery, they're having an Open Studio event this weekend which is to include an art auction in aid of a local homeless charity. All the artwork is around A5 in size, which I found quite challenging as I'm used to working larger. Each artist was invited to donate two pieces of work, all the work is to be sold for £10.

Some Things We Forgot To Remember, Swansea Museum

Some Things We Forgot To Remember, Swansea Museum

"A handful of shrapnel The ticking time bomb of the modern world - plastic, that miracle invention to aid the age of the disposable life is set to slowly poison us. Its shrapnel strewn on beaches, rivers and seas will last for centuries after we have passed, choking and polluting as it erodes to microscopic beads. Think twice before you detonate the final straw." As part of a group show including artist's reactions and insights into the WW1 exhibition in the museum, work is incorporated within the walls and cabinets encouraging people to engage with both exhibitions simultaneously.

"Conscientious objective A hundred years ago conscientious objectors were vilified and labelled as cowards; hopefully progress has taught us that it takes as much courage to take a stand as it does to take up arms. We have a choice. We can choose not to fight. We can choose peace." As part of a group show including artist's reactions and insights into the WW1 exhibition in the museum, work is incorporated within the walls and cabinets encouraging people to engage with both exhibitions simultaneously.

    Dali's Delirio's

    Dali's Delirio's

During the summer months I volunteer for Oxfam by stewarding at music festivals. This year, however, I'm helping out with the decor at a lovely little festival called Nozstock in Herefordshire. The theme is Surrealism, so we're keeping it cereal with Dali's Delirio's - the fruit loops of the surrealists - Be Dali or be the spoon!
