About Heather Hubbard

  • Biography
Heather Hubbard's art career began at the age of four when her mother noticed her creativity and enrolled her in oil painting classes in Houston. She spent her childhood drawing and painting and showed promise of a future in art. But somewhere along the way, she was lured by the lights of Broadway and left home at 22 to pursue an acting career in New York. Years later, after marriage and children, she began to feel that old familiar calling to the canvas. Hours in the Metropolitan Museum led to a tremendous passion for such artists as Toulouse-Lautrec , Monet and Van Gogh. The need to express and paint began to take over her life, and here we are today. Her paintings tell a story about a girl, a girl who had an usual childhood, tinctured at times with magic, a girl who was passionate about fields of flowers and victorian ornament...a girl obsessed with color. Her paintings today are an attempt to share what it is she sees inside her head...the feelings she has when encountering every day sights or objects. She absorbs whatever ignites her deepest passions, processes the feelings, then attempts to put them back on the canvas, reinterpreted through her vision. It is on ongoing journey of deciphering the mystery of what moves her....memories of a time she never lived in....or places she's only dreamt of but never actually been. Yet to feel such a spiritual connection to such things requires acknowledgement and an honoring of these gifts from the soul. They demand to be expressed. When you purchase her art, you are taking home not only a painting but an experience, a moment in time, You have a captured piece of magic.
