David is a Lancashire artist inspired by the landscape of the west Pennine moors. He is inspired by the landscape’s changing seasons, misty hills, high grassland and deep wooded valleys. The changing light and variable weather provide new challenges every day.

His paintings are his way of exploring the landscape and understanding how it works visually - why the colours are so beautiful, and why the whole landscape is so much more than sum of its parts.

He usually works in oils and acrylics on either canvas or MDF panels. He works instinctively and builds layers of paint into textured surfaces that provide a tactile, colourful effect.
