About Caroline Nuttall-Smith

  • Biography

I first started working in linocut while I was studying Textile Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art. Since graduation I continued using linocut alongside my other work. More recently I have produced editions of prints with Artichoke Printmakers & my work was shown by them at the Affordable Art Fair & Bankside Gallery.

I now print my work at Thames Barrier Print Studio.

I have always loved working in the medium of linocut. It produces a unique hand crafted look.I love lettering as well & usually combine words with the images.
I have looked at traditional nursery rhymes & produced linocuts using a combination of the verse & imagery. I number & sign each print & they are printed on 100% cotton rag artist's paper.

I have also produced a linocut alphabet which has been Giclee printed on artist's paper .

I love dogs, my own being a fox terrier & I have made editions of dog breeds that I am adding to. I have also done commissioned portraits of client's dogs.
