    DEEP BLUE THEME

    DEEP BLUE THEME - In this section, the viewer is travelling further from the previous red terrestrial section - between dimensions, in and out of existence! Have a deep dive into the internal realm, inside - to the depths of the soul. The colour palette presents the contrast between dark blue and golden okra, evoking the silence of the internal void and searching for the metaphysical space within us. The colour is used as an instrument of revelation and a gateway to the soul. Since ancient times, the colour blue has been associated with wisdom, moral philosophy and truth. Figures are more abstract, faces are less defined and the focus is on one element in each piece - the eyes. Through the eyes that are staring right at the viewer, a person feels questioned and provoked. When the disturbing contact is made one can travel to the invisible world - almost as if the portraits are mirrors, revealing who are we or making us wonder and think deeper about our existence.

    BLACK & WHITE THEME - Thinkers, familiar strangers! Ink and graphite mixed media drawings devoted to the intellectuals, thinkers, philosophers, and some of my favourite artists or characters from the literature. Eclectic experiment with strong and expressive visual messages and decisive line as conductor and guide through the maps of the collective experience! In a realm between grotesque, bizarre, witty, and sad, nothing is as it seems at first look. Everything has its duality. The viewers might recognize characters performing as being caught in a moment, on their way to do what they were supposed to! They all do seem familiar, we might have seen those faces before, we know them from somewhere? I was interested in extracting some famous faces out of their context and changing their role, making them ordinary people we can all relate to, displacing their identity and adding another key to understanding the complexity of human nature.

    RED THEME - This area presents the viewers' paintings with expressive and gestural figuration combined with very intimate imagery, strongly inspired by the personal ghosts emerging from the subconscious, internal journeys and rituals, histories and secrets, emotional states and childhood, as well as the unexplainable metaphysics of life. It is a story about a lost home and the search for identity. To be lost and found in this perpetual life journey, seeking, exploring, understanding - composing, and decomposing personal reality! Characters are captured in the grid trying to break free and to escape. The colour palette ranges from burning red to shades of brown, and purple - evoking the connection with the soil, ground, earth, blood, passions, and everyday struggles. Nostalgic and empathetic, this project ultimately speaks of the human experience and all the beautiful ways in which sadness can manifest itself.

    LIGHT BLUE THEME - This section rises from the depths of the deep blue and takes us into the air, to the light skies, and celestial realms of limbo - a space "in-between" where the body and reality do not have any more attachments to the ground and figures are floating. Limbo is a potential representation of the afterlife, a space for departed souls. The light blue pieces were created after the loss of my beloved dog when I embarked on this deeply personal journey—a profound introspective exploration of grief, healing, and search of the realms beyond the visible reality. My paintings became a conduit for processing the loss of the physical absence while exploring the trace, an echo in the void. On this path, boundaries between dimensions blur, and the potential for something beyond our material world is contemplated. I seek to capture and unravel the enigmatic nature of this metaphysical space and evoke contemplation and introspection in the viewer, with peace and acceptance as a final goal, reminding us of the profound interconnectedness between the visible and invisible, the spiritual essence that resides within us.
