    Just sold my painting at the auction

    “Gates of Làng Yên Phụ street”, 50x40cm, Oil on canvas, 2024

    Beautiful ancient gates of the street with a scarlet lantern decorated with small Vietnamese flags. I decided to leave impression that my oil plein-air painting is made with watercolours. While I was painting the locals were very kind checking and evaluating, said “Number One 👍”. At the end a woman shared with me a piece of pomelo and even granted the one to appreciate my work.

    “Cloudy day in Hanoi”, 70x50cm, Oil on canvas, 2024

    This is my interesting view from the window, typical of Hanoi. For those who like roofs, garages and pipes. This is a feature of the architecture of the center of Hanoi on a par with the old city. Despite this industrial appearance, housing in Hanoi can be very comfortable, with high ceilings and large windows. Of course there are also very poor apartments. And all this in one area and a neighboring house.

    “Tran Quoc Pagoda: Blooming Lotos”, 45x50cm, Oil on canvas, 2024

    Tran Quoc Pagoda was included in the list of the 16 most beautiful pagodas in the world according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”. The Lotus Tower is 15 meters high and consists of 11 floors, each floor of the tower has 6 arched openings, each of which contains a statue of Amitabha Buddha made of precious stones.

    “Buddhist temple”, 50x50cm, Oil on canvas, 2024

    According to the ancient legend, this place was built by King Li Kong Uan to worship a pair of mother dogs and puppies who became gods. When a puppy was born, spots appeared on its fur that formed the word “Son of Heaven,” corresponding to the accession of King Li Kong Wan to the throne. In 1980, the old temple was demolished to make way for a children’s playground and warehouse. Then the place was once used as a cafe. Te city authorities approved the temple restoration project in 2014. However the Board decided to give the temple a new name – Thuy Chung Tien Temple instead of the old title Kau Ni.
