Hello and welcome to my world!
In my world Painting Drawing & Photography become one discipline where light is applied to film or sensor in the same way a brush touches canvas....a world without borders.
I studied Fine Art at Art College back in the 1980's and since then have been lucky enough to have produced work in many different mediums for a profession.
I am fascinated by the process of constructing images, both mentally, spiritually and technically. Four years ago I started experimenting with an old lighting technique that had largely been forgotten and adapted it into my project called 'Night Vision'. This process allowed me not only to create images impulsively without constraint, but also to capture 'mood' and 'atmosphere' all within a 'live' environment at night. The results literally let you see things in a new light.
I constantly take inspiration from nature...something we share our planet with and can quite happily grow and prosper without our intervention. I am also inspired by the romantic Pre Raphaelites, the heady atmosphere of JMW Turner and the mystery and macabre of Goya. I bring all these things and more into my work and hope it reverberates within them. The pictures I produce celebrate and highlight the simple things we take for granted such as trees, rocks and water, in an effort to bring them back to our conscious in our daily lives.
