Biography
After falling in love with oil painting during my undergraduate career, I established KJS/Studio in 2022 as a way of formalizing my artistic endeavors. I work with a variety of subject matter, but each of my pieces are tied together by their connections to environment, food, and well-being.
I am continually motivated by two core visions: I believe environmental conservation is the most pressing issue in the modern world, and I am confident that art is capable of providing unmatched awareness, insight, and understanding. My paintings elevate images of everyday beauty to reinforce the importance of environmental protection – what and who would we be in the absence of these elements? The life we have come to expect is not a guarantee, and only when we look more closely at the factors driving our actions will we achieve a sustainable future for us all.
