About Irina Davydova

  • Biography
The main concern of my creative work is mental health. I formulated the goal regarding this - raising awareness and breaking the stigma of having mental disorders through my art. Oil painting helps gradually conceptualize and transfer personal experience to the canvas. The sincere expression of personal experiences at the time of their most striking manifestation demonstrates the influence of expressionist artists on my art. Like Edvard Munch or Egon Schiele, I pour out the most complex and controversial points and moments in life onto the canvas in order to emphasize the importance of mental health. I boldly operate with color, as the depth and color saturation contribute to the expression of emotions. The figurativeness in my works comes from illustration, which was the focus in the early stages of my creative career. There also is a number of issues reflected in my paintings, for example, the value of beauty in its transience; internal conflicts and choices; cruelty to animals, expressed not only in violence, but also in neglect. Such issues are also development directions and potential topics for my future artworks series. Personally, I see Artfinder as more than a marketplace; it is a platform, where the artist reaches out to the world with ideas and finds a wider range of buyers than in any social media. I see it as a mutually advantageous cooperation. And I am motivated to grow both as a business and as an artist here with constant work and improvements.
