  • Biography
    Indira is a teacher and an artist. She has done her Masters in science from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. Indira is settled in UK. Teaching is her profession, painting is her passion. She has been creating since childhood, always drawing, painting or making something. She works primarily in oil and acrylic (sand, gravels, broken sea shells, coffee granules and paper towels) on canvas with figurative, landscapes & abstracts her main focus. She draws inspiration from nature and human figure. She portrays the female figure as the symbol of beauty, purity and present woman as woman with all her subtlety and femininity. Living in Pembrokeshire, the coastal landscapes with azure blue sky, lush green meadows and changing colours of the sea synchronizing with that of the sky has started to dominate her current work She is influenced by the light, colour, depth, luminosity and draftsmanship of the old masters. Her strong sense of colour is evident in all her artworks and especially in modern abstract paintings.
