  • Biography
    Gandee Vasan is a Painter and Photographer from Sri Lanka, he moved to England in 1977 via Africa where he lived for 6 years. He has a degree in Fine Art, Painting and a post graduate diploma in Computer Graphics. He is now an Advertising Photographer whose powerful and evocative images look down from billboards and out of magazine pages worldwide. His books are enjoyed by animal lovers in every continent and have earned him a number of prestigious awards.

    Gandee has a unique ability to capture the essence of what he photographs and his work with animals shows this. In his first book, 'Dog Days', Doggy portraits gazed out from the pages, captivating dog lovers who saw them. Following the success of this publication, he created a fabulous set of cat portraits. A series of successful cat and dog books for adults and children have followed.
    At the age of 23, Gandee was awarded the commission to paint the last official portrait Harold MacMillan the former Prime Minister. At the unveiling ceremony, Prince Charles commented on his tremendous talent.
    Gandee has since developed his skills in the photographer to enable his artistic vision to create images which are distinctive and powerful. He is a top selling photographer with Getty images and is now sought after by art directors and creatives internationally, to work on campaigns that will benefit from his expressive and distinctive style.
