About Elizabeth M. Higgins

  • Biography
I paint to experience joy and a sense of freedom.  I most frequently use bright, warm colors to create my watercolor paintings.  I often paint to express my emotions.  Painting is playful and joyful to me, and these are the feelings I believe my paintings evoke.

I have lived in Oregon since 1995, where I maintain a studio in historic downtown Hillsboro (a suburb of Portland) and teach art classes for various cultural organizations, as well as for my own students. I am a juried member of Watercolor Society of Oregon and have had my art featured on the popular T.V. series "Portlandia."

Professional Affiliations: Watercolor Society of Oregon; City of Hillsboro Teaching Artist
