About Elena Tsaregorodtseva / Yellow

  • Biography
Born in Siberia, Lena Yellow took the first steps in her career as a painter in Saint-Petersburg in 2004. In Russia's cultural capital, she proceeded to build her artistic language and repertoire for 15 years. Her abstract paintings have been exhibited all over Europe and sold to various private collections worldwide. In 2018, after having won multiple prestigious prizes in Russia, she relocated to Switzerland. Her abstract art offers an opportunity to dive into a colourful space apart from the "here and now", far from the needs and distractions of the viewer's everyday life. Although Lena Yellow never aims to provoke directly, her work does carry a call: Her art is an invitation to find truth and sense in abstractness, and to apply what we have learned to our own lives. Art is reflection, and only by reflection one can achieve a well-balanced life of respect and harmony.
