About my work ethic: I have always been intrigued by painting’s moving capacity. When I was studying my Art History degree I was as astonished by the technical perfection as I was by the emotional message some paintings transmitted. The study of these works of art awakened in me the desire to provoke that same feeling. I only paint what inspires and moves me and that desire to emotionally move people with my work has been present since my first paintings. I am also fascinated by the light and its relationship with figurative painting in all ages and drawings. But most importantly in the way I understand painting is the composition. In the way you approach every new project, the composition occupies the most important position between every other element that makes up the final result and it has been progressing since the initial baroque style to the most minimalist style possible. The shapes and figures in my paintings move in a timeless and empty scene… deprived of any ornament or decoration, except maybe, some shadow that ties the figure to the material world. Regarding materials, I enjoy experimenting with oil painting against an acrylic prime board because I find that texture pleasant and it allows the paint brush to flow seamlessly over a slightly porous surface. I also enjoy the different finishes and different techniques that oil painting allows, just like its clean and shiny colours. You may say I am a realistic painter yet not objective, just because of that emotional intent that I mentioned earlier, and because of the stamp every artists leaves in every one of their projects without noticing, like a reflection of a unique way of understanding life. I would love to be able to sell my art online using your website to widen my horizons and reach new markets.
