About Michelle Williams Photography

  • Biography

I have always had a love of landscapes and travel, and from a young child I have enjoyed creative pursuits so it was a natural progression into photography.

I have been lucky enough to both live and travel extensively throughout the UK and worldwide, and it is from these experiences in which I draw creative expression.  Finding inspiration in people, seascapes, natural landscapes, urban landscapes and architecture.

My photography hero's are Steve McCurry, Don McCullin. Joe Cornish, Elliot Erwitt and Dorothea Lange to name but a few!

I originally studied travel and tourism, before beginning my journey into photography, studying at Arts University Bournemouth, whilst living on the picturesque Dorset coast in southern England.

Since then I have won national competitions for my landscape work and exhibited my images both in the UK and overseas, I have also received mentions and appeared in publications for my documentary/reportage work.

My work now includes working on commercial projects for local tourism and government authorities, along with wedding and event work.

Asides from my commercial work I still love coming back to where photography first started for me, and that was out in the landscape  I'm never happier than when wandering the local landscapes, camera and tripod in hand chasing the light.  I also have a huge passion for capturing story telling images and documenting life and the many facets of human nature.
