About Veronica Ciccarese

I was born in 1972 in Mesagne, Italy. Since I was a child I show a keen interest in photography and painting. Over the years I began my passion for painting with strict self-taught studies in artistic workshops. In the beginning I was influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite movement and then lost myself in the paintings of Tamara de Lempicka and Felice Casorati,with silent, emotional and intimate female figures. My women are full of often unspoken feelings, expressed exclusively by sensual movements or direct gazes. I successfully know the online art market thanks to which multiple works are sold all over the world housed in private collections in the United States, Belgium, Holland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, France, etc. So that at the age of 50 I finally leave my traditional job to have the opportunity to devote myself full time to painting and live exclusively on art, I follow my true path and do what makes me truly happy. A life decision!Through the use of body language, I focus the viewer's gaze on the subject, leading him to scrutinize the painting with impunity without many visual distractions, immediately placing him in an intimate relationship with it. My eyes transform every single image I see into painting. My visual reality is made up of continuous paintings. I speak through my paintings! It's the only way to convey what I feel and what's inside me. Artistic training: I enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce but did not finish my studies due to family vicissitudes. Nonetheless, I continue my self-taught studies full time. Over the years I have followed the advice and lessons of artists and masters such as master D'Addario, artist Angioletta de Nitto, master Igli Arapi, and artist Jara Marzulli, attending courses and workshops in their art studios. Artistic thinking: The core of my inspiration is the woman. Mysterious, suave and scandalous creature. Her paintings are like a book written in the time of past women, of modern women, of women I have known or simply of women who do not exist. Each work is a piece of a mosaic of the female universe. And each tile has a profound reason for having been painted. It's like a metronome that oscillates between dream and reality. She tells of women, of women beyond time. Without any provocation....or maybe yes!
