About Sandra Francis

  • Biography

I have made my art my life and my livelihood. I painted portraiture, then architecture realistically, sold paintings and prints worldwide, ran my own gallery and now I paint by the sea. I am now a published artist in UK, US, and Europe. I am inspired to paint the light of each day as it changes the colours of the beach and the water. The reflections of the sky on the sea and the patterns found on the beach made by the rocks, sands and water fascinate me and provide never ending inspiration.  I paint from memory onto my Ipad after walking on the beach everyday and transfer the idea and the emotional response to that seascape rather than depicting a particular place exactly as it is. In that process a unique painting is made which is then recognisable as my own as all mine have the same feel. A unique painting in my own genre. I am interested in the role paintings have in calming the mind and helping to create a relaxing environment . To this end I have three separate travelling exhibitions throughout  the cities of UK  and soon to add a fourth .

    testimonials........

"The painting arrived, well packaged, today. When unwrapped I was really delighted with the colour and execution of this gorgeous and universal seascape. I look forward to having it framed and hanging it in our beach unit in Noosa. Thanks you so much for sharing your wonderful gift for painting."

"Your lovely painting arrived and we are very pleased with it."
