About Russell Korr

  • Biography
Graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts, UK.
Fine Artist working in two main directions: seascape - classical marine painting and abstract painting - color planes, shapes, and reliefs.

If this is real art, fine art, then it is expensive

If there is no art in work, or if this is but primitive imitation of art, it costs no more than the paint spent on it, that’s all! /Russell Korr !!

I do my best to create as truthful a work of art as possible. One of the main themes in my paintings is SUNSHINE, and the emotion I always seek to radiate through my art is POSITIVISM and JOY of LIFE. Fine Art has to be harmonious so that the viewer always has the feeling of freedom. This is the exact middle between a fully abstract painting technique and a very detailed one.

The technology of the application of both the priming and the paint comes in a rigorous order, based on the established canons, which adds to the paintings depth and transparency, like air. Yet this is by no means some random side effect. Quite the opposite: this is the result of the many years of exploring the technique. Each painting of this kind is a piece of art and the subject of study. It is of interest to art collectors and connoisseurs of painting of the olden times...

I strongly prioritize professionalism and taste in painting. This is why I distinguish and am very sensitive to the subtle line between professional artists and décor artists. For me professionalism and the repository of experience and mastership that comes with it is the crucial quality. I pursue it in my career by constantly exploring and examining the technologies of the past and also looking for merited fine artists in the contemporary world.

I regard my main teachers to be Turner, John Everett Millais,John William Waterhouse

Thank you to everyone interested in my paintings, both to the customers and viewers.
