About RL Fitzpatrick

I am a Canadian artist whose work has evolved over 40 years through many mediums and genres. My current work examines old urban walls and cast shadows. I love the mysterious quality of light and shadow and the subtle colors and textures. Peeling paint and graffiti hold stories and imagined history. I use oil & wax on paper to create a luminous and layered quality.  Experimentation has always played a big role in my work and a constant theme has been soulful work that reflects a mindfulness practice. It is my deepest hope to inspire wonder and joyfulness with beautiful simplicity.
