After many years of graphic design, book illustrating, teaching art, cycling, walking, thinking, and trying to put an old stone house back together, I finally returned to painting about nine years ago...
Essentially much of my work is born at a point where playful 'philosophy', meets (often) incongruous artifacts...
I enjoy the resonance - both visual and intellectual - of trying to 'see' and reinvent the ordinary world, in a slightly subversive way, making it I hope, occasionally mysterious, and sometimes even quietly disturbing...
There are on the other hand, pieces where simple playfulness and simple 'observation', take centre stage...
We all grow older, and we hope wiser... but we can also carry our ancient childlike curiosity with us, as we journey towards the unknown...
