About Paris Tremayne

  • Biography
My name is Paris Tremayne. I am full time artist living and working in Melbourne.
I create digital work that I turn into signed limited edition fine art giclee prints as well as paintings. Although I am currently far more focussed on working digitally.
I have exhibited in numerous galleries around Australia including Mars Gallery, Gilligan Grant Gallery, Pollock Gallery, Harvison Gallery and C3 Contemporary art space.
And I have been selected as a finalist in many prizes including , Drawing Together Art prize (National Gallery, Canberra), Redlands Art Prize, The Churchie, Agendo, Artsite and Going Public art prize.
My work is part of  in many collections including, Artbank Australia, Tristar Corporate Australia and Private Collection across Australia as well as in UK and New Zealand.

But more importantly,  I create art  fundamentally because I love doing so more than anything in the world. It's an expression of who I am at the deepest level. It's in my DNA. I could never hope to get close to expressing the way I feel about creating art in words. As Frida Kahlo said "I paint quite simply because I have to".
My work is an expression of the profound joy, utter wonder and intense gratitude I feel for life itself. It comes from my heart and the best thing I can do as an artist is 'get out of the way' and allow whatever needs to come through come through.
Just as a poet needn't create a picture to explain their poem. I have chosen a visual medium for a reason and would prefer people to allow themselves the pleasure of embarking on their own journey with what I have created.
