    Amsterdam Hollyhocks #1 WIP

My husband and I were lucky enough to be able to take a trip abroad to Amsterdam and Copenhagen this past summer. I took roughly eleventy billion reference shots for paintings, including several of the gorgeous hollyhocks that were everywhere.

Here I'm shipping two 8"x8" acrylics on stretched canvas. Individually wrapped in parchment paper, then a layer of cardboard front and back, sealed in large ziplock bag, twice-bubblewrapped, layer of foam core and final layer of cardboard on top and bottom.

    Boxed Still Life Series inspiration

    Boxed Still Life Series inspiration

Here are some of the nesting boxes I've used for my BSL series as well as examples from three of the four series so far. Note how some of the paintings are exactly to scale, but others will be enlarged versions of original still life. Fruit Series #1 (not pictured) is on 5" x 5" canvas panel, Floral Series #1 is on 8" x 8" x 1" stretched canvas, Pepper Series is on 6" x 6" canvas panel and Candy Series is on 6" x 6" x 2" cradled gessobord. Each series has a total of twelve pieces.
