About Oscar Francescutto

  • Biography

    Born in Madrid on 03.03.1973

Surrealist-metaphysical painter who condenses in his works the colors of his native Spain, which have marked his formation and his youth, with the experience of his present life in the Italian northeast; all filtered through the study of the metaphysical movement, initiated by the great master Giorgio De Chirico.

"My painting focuses mainly on strong and vibrant colors.

It fascinates me to unite the material with incisive brush strokes through the use of spatulas, plaster and color.

In addition to fixing my vision through the prism of Metaphysical Surrealism, my intention is to photograph the news of events, some of the subjects in my work touch on controversial themes.

I have separated my paintings in categories because I am developing different projects and reefs: some focus on an interior examination, such as "Dentro y Fuera" , which focuses on the introspection of the soul of the human being, others are inspired by particular situations that have awakened my curiosity, and others are simply oriented towards the pure esthetic sense, as it happens with "Le città di carta".

Above all, my inspiration is born of the consecrated precursor of Metaphysical Surrealism Giorgio De Chirico and is complemented by the study of the greatest exponents  of the 20th century pictorial revolution, like Picasso.

Through the anthropomorphization of contemporary subjects and events, one of my main objectives is to find a visual result that adds space to the freedom of interpretation. This is characterized by the enigmatic factor, since the relation between the imagination of the observer and the painting is fundamental so that the love between both can be born."
