About Michael Warren

  • Biography

I am an Architect living in Toronto, Canada. I take great fascination in line work, drawing exclusively with pen. For 35 years I have designed buildings around the world in this manner and alongside for 20 years I have drawn with line to create my art.

My work with perspective draws me in to the medium with grids, simple forms and lines. I enjoy many types of dialog in my artwork. For example, curves work to warp my perspective perceptions by giving the design ideas a softness and ultimately tantalize my personal desire to motivate and manipulate depths of field.

The line is a fantastic thing creating either arrows to draw the eye, or blocks to hold the eye. Through the combination of these two (and many more) actions, I can show myself places I have never been to…every day. Either sketching in architectural design or abstracting with line in art, I am in pursuit of seeking the perfect union to witness a dynamic feeling of harmony and integration.

I like that my art is  moving, constantly changing and evolving my own perceptions in spatial and technical outlets. There have been decades of ideas in the past and hopefully decades to follow as I seek my understandings. It is my intention at this point in my career to show and share my insights with others.
