  • Making "Russell and Harriet"

Harriet, as the younger sister of Helen, had tagged along as a chaperone on all Helen and Russell's courtship dates. Helen eventually rejected Russell's proposal of marriage. His affections turned to and were reciprocated by Harriet. Russell and Harriet married in 1929. Their daughter Jane, my mother-in-law, was born in September of 1931, and this commission is for her. With Birch Trunk #1

Birch tree in a forest preserve. Monotype processes differ from artist to artist. I paint on a plexiglass plate, then use an etching press to transfer the image. Then I add extra contrast and color directly to the paper. Hence, oil over monotype. Sister piece to Oak Tree With Invasive Vine. Oil over monotype, hand scroll paper. Hahnnemühle copperplate bright paper. Signed and chopped. 16" x 48" - 2021

    Making of Legalize It

Back in '77 my little brother and several other of us pothead high-school buddies plastered our school with this simple demand: Legalize it. End the stigma and embrace the benefits of this incredible plant. Hang it in your home. Keep fighting for change. Finally. Limited edition of 5 (4 Proofs) 9-impression oil on Hahnemuhle paper linocut reduction prints. Artist proofs available. 25" x 26" - 2022

Making of He, She, They, Them #2

Making #2 in a series that explores the complexity of human identity and the fluidity of gender expression. Through interconnected semi-androgynous human forms, blurring the lines between traditional gender roles, it invites the viewer to question their own assumptions, and celebrate the diversity of human experience. A unique large-scale multi-impression linocut block print, hand-carved and hand-pressed oil on fabric panel. Display in any orientation. Gallery wrap. 72" x 72" x 1.5" - 2023
