About Katie Farrell

  • Biography
In March 2016, I decided to make a unique christening gift for my newest niece Evelyn. I used my linocut printing skills learnt at college to create a print featuring a rabbit and named the design "Evelyn Bunny". I enjoyed getting back to my illustration and print making so much that I went on to create a design featuring a woodland creature for all my children, nieces and nephews. Encouraged by friends and family, I translated my designs on to greetings cards, cushion covers, bags, aprons, tea towels and coasters and so my art and design company Mabel Fox was born. I think I must be secretly half Swedish because I love Scandinavian design and style which you can see in my artwork. I studied art and design all through school and went on to achieve a BA Hons in Graphic Design and a City and Guilds qualification in Interior Design. I am passionate about art and design enhancing our lives, enriched with vibrant colour and form and I feel as though I have finally come back to where I want to be, creating art for people to enjoy everyday.
