  • Biography
Artist Statement & A Little about Lovietta "Art is a love and like any love it's rough, but the passion that goes into it, is well worth its uncertainties." © Lovietta Simpkins I grew up in Chicago, Self taught and drawing these crazy little half dog half human creatures on notebook paper at the age of three. That's what started everything. I grew up and couldn't stop drawing. I had a love of science and was very skilled in it however, it never brought me the joy that art could. I’ve exhibited my art throughout Highschool, College, and Continue as a Freelance Artist. I am a Highly skilled Illustrator, Concept Artist,Storyboard Artist, Graphic Designer, Brand Developer, and Fine Artist. I'm in the business of creating solutions, sharing my vivid imagination and always encouraging other creatives to challenge themselves. I’m Always Open for collaboration and employment opportunities. My artwork is available for purchase in its original form or as a print. My work is ever changing and evolving along with each experience that I have. Some experiences such as when I was a child were in full bloom, colorful and all around free. But as I grew up it became muted, cold, and lonely based on the course that life took me as a teenager. My art was dark, and full of ink, abstractions, and illustrations. It was interesting to see, but parts of my soul were missing. As a young adult I discovered paint. At first I was unsure, but it helped me understand life. The colors allowed me to be free. I wanted more paint. College delivered that experience for me and I became fond of color theory. Now as a working artist, I pull from my experiences, family, and the world around me. I like to explore art and create things that are whimsical, beautiful, ugly and even uncertain. My work has flare it’s full of life and emotion. Have a Wonderful Day! Lovietta
