About Lou Newsholme

  • Biography

Hi my name is Lou Newsholme and I am a photographic artist based in Kent.

I was born and brought up in Belgium and moved to England aged sixteen. I originally studied photography at the City of London Polytechnic followed by a photography degree course at Salisbury College of Art and Design.

I started out photographing rock concerts and crop circles before moving onto PR and events. This led me into the Luxury Goods sector before a complete change of direction when I trained and practised as a reflexologist in London for a number of years.

My love of photography though never diminished and after the birth of my children and a move out of London to Kent I was ready to devote more time to it even if it did mean leaving my old 35mm equipment behind and upgrading everything into the digital world!

I specialise and am passionate about flower photography. However not only do I enjoy taking the shot as I see it infront of me but from these relatively straight forward images I like to create an enhanced, sometimes abstract, vibrant image. Many of these compositions will celebrate shape, colour, light, texture and hopefully inspire you to explore the world of flower photography in new and exciting ways.
