About Liza Wheeler

  • Biography

Following advanced studies in design, my art career began as an understudy, twenty three years ago, leading to about seven years of custom freelance work.  I consider myself to be mostly self-taught.

Upon the opening of my studio in Texas, fourteen years ago, I realized the need to develop a recognizable ¨style¨.  My interests from the beginning were to create unique works involving multiple subjects. I discovered, with the availability of modern materials, that many could be modified to create one of-a-kind artworks, satisfying my long anticipated dreams. This experimentation continues today, creating new ideas, techniques, styles and diversity.

I have participated in over thirty eight curated solo, group and guild exhibitions in nine countries, on three continents. My work has appeared in international art books and publications.  Donations of work and time have been made to charities and public instruction workshops.
