About Klaus Decker

  • Biography
I am a contemporary artist with a strong focus on experimental paintings, monotype processes as well as collages and works on paper.

My works are strongly influenced by "serial thinking". I approach varying themes through different series, though my main interest lies "beyond the fringes of painting". Through each artwork, I endeavor to create a specific visual language through the choice of "picture carriers", as well as motivic and technical elements that transcend the boundaries of conventional painting, questioning the traditional image structure.

It is important to me, in addition to the means and techniques chosen, to allow chance to influence the creation of an artwork. It provides both inspiration and strength.
