About Kerri McCabe

My abstract expressionist paintings are built up with generous layers of colors and textures along with intuitive mark making. It is an exploration of sensory experiences that inspires me. I weave the layers to create depth to pull the viewer in, so we can share the fleeting moments of life in a suspended moment, free of gravity and time. 

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest all my life and it is my great inspiration. The misty forests, the gray moody ocean, the stormy nights with the wind whipping through the trees and the crazy, colorful activity of Portland all fill me with visions of color, shape and mood that I need to put down onto canvas.
