    Me and The Watcher

    Me and The Watcher

“The Watcher” (seraphim) is currently exhibited at the Bishops Palace, Wells, Somerset as part of a fine art exhibition called ‘Re-formation’ until 6 October 2019. The Watcher’ references the authoritarian watchful eyes of the Catholic faith before and during the Reformation and the powerful status of the past Bishops Palace as it watched over the city folk. It intends to draw parallels with the present day Big Brother surveillance climate and play with today’s narcissistic selfie culture. The Watcher requires your interaction and invites you to take a selfie by using the reflection in the lens and sharing it on social media with the tag #iamtheseraphim .

The Mosaic Odysseys Festival. 6 Greek and 5 UK mosaic artists exhibited our work in London, Athens and Mykonos. Here I am in Athens at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation with my doves and photos of the works that I sold in the London exhibition. The final exhibition of the tour was at the Municipal Art Gallery of Mykonos from 23 September - 30 September.

Cutting slate with a hammer and hardy

These are thick chunks of slate I am cutting with a hammer and hardy. These are the traditional tools the Romans used to cut up their stone for mosaic, we still use them to cut stone and smalti.

    My work shed

    My work shed

You are so lucky to see it like this! It has never ever been this clean and organised, not even when I first set it up. I spent a whole week mucking it out, now wouldn't it be "nice" to keep it this way.

    How the Sky Becomes Blue

A stop motion animation I made in 2011 which accompanied a couple of works made back then using the glass bird shapes I cut. I am showing this here as I am revisiting the idea of bird filled skies in my new series "The Sky is Flying" here on Artfinder.
