    Sari & Space

    The space I leave on the canvas has become an integral part of my practice, it isolates elements from their environment and reflects memories of feeling exposed. The Sari holds importance in my paintings as it depicts the Hindi culture that I rejected. It also acknowledges the symbolic expressions that is embedded within Indian clothing. As my practice has developed, I have gained confidence in the assemblage of this material, which will continue to be an important element of my work.

    This photo was taken a few months back in preparation for my final hand in at University! Time at Uni has flown by and although it was stressful, I definitely miss it. After having a small break, I am looking forward to getting back into a routine. I am also excited to create and share some more artwork over the next few months.
