I'm what some refer to as a 'Self taught Artist'. Essentially, I forged my own path. From an early age I had a deep longing to paint. At first I experimented, I dabbled, I skirted around. I dipped a toe in this, an elbow in that, deciding the temperature just wasn't right. I read, explored, practised. And then I discovered Watercolour, set sail and never looked back. My paintings now travel much further than me, Australia, Canada, US and Europe. I hope you like what you see because I love what I do.

I love to travel and have a particular fondness for the West Coast of Scotland. Many great memories have been made on Islands off the West Coast, inspiration flows, sketch books are filled and the camera shutter works overtime. Seabirds inspire me, I find their hardy nature and roaming spirit uplifting, to quote Joni Mitchell.. 'Fly silly sea bird, no dreams can possess you, no voices can blame you for sun on your wings.'

    Tree by Lake.

A gentle, atmospheric watercolour painting of a tree in a cold, wintry scene. This painting sold recently and i have been advised by its new owner it fills her with relaxing joy when she looks at it.
