Event: Gökhan Okur Printmaking Exhibition
Dates: 30 Jan 2022 - 23 Feb 2022
I believe traditional methods are a privilege for artists, especially designers. At the same time, I think that technology is a factor that constantly changes, reshapes or carries art and design to different dimensions. I combine computer technology with traditional methods in the creative process. In this way, I try to achieve the result by managing the random errors that occur when using paper, ink and printing plates, with the privilege of creating fast, multi-option, mathematically perfect forms in the digital environment.
The philosophy of my works is that as one of the creatures that can construct forms, structures or systems against nature human produce an 'extra' option against natural formations. I prefer to express human stories in my works, which I approach with artistic concerns, benefit from the basic principles of art, and of course, using the unique visual language of graphics.
Event: Fishbone II
Dates: 31 Jan 2020 - 13 Feb 2020
Gökhan Okur chooses the fishbone as the form; “This is the basic fact of this exhibition, where bone goes back 300,000 years from today, and thanks to these remains we know about many living things. Therefore, this exhibition can be considered as my own remains that will be left to the future.”
Event: Fish Bone I
Dates: 24 Oct 2019 - 2 Nov 2019
Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design faculty member and Print Art Artist Dr. Gökhan Okur states that this concept has come to the forefront in his works which take place in Print Painting and Draft Exhibitions. In addition to this, the artist emphasized that he tried to make a fiction on the dialectics of death and life in this exhibition and reminds the words of Greek philosopher Epicurus, “One should not be afraid of death, there is no death when there is life, and when death comes, we people disappear”. The artist chooses the fishbone as the form; “This is the basic fact of this exhibition, where bone goes back 300,000 years from today, and thanks to these remains we know about many living things. Therefore, this exhibition can be considered as my own remains that will be left to the future.”

Event: Visual Notes
Dates: 28 Oct 2015 - 20 Nov 2015
Gökhan Okur’s ‘Visual Notes’ exhibition includes a selection of works inspired by the tale The Little Black Fish, prepared between the years 2004-2015. In a period in which, as individuals and societies, our democratic rights are trying to be usurped by generated pressure, applied violence and fears being created upon us, Okur portrays in his works this famous story of Samed Behrengi that remains up-to-date.
