About Elle Alvarado Mauriz

  • Biography
I am a NJ based artist. I completed my artistic classical training at The School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1992. Working primarily in oils on canvas and in abstract form, my paintings are full of vivid color hold layers of paint that both give them depth and translucency. I do not adhere to current art trends, but prefers to be true to my own artistic expression. My influences are everywhere, from everyday occurrences to culturally diverse neighborhoods in NJ and the NYC surrounding area
My work is a mixture of emotions and reflects my passion for the forces of nature , both healing and destructive at the same time. My love for music and diverse cultures is also prevalent in my work through the use of color and form. I paint my daily life as a writer would write in a journal every day, taking note of every minute in detail with my brush and paint.
My goal is to have the viewer feel my passion for painting as I try to portray the fluidity of the ocean, the force of the wind or the heat of fire through my paintings.
