About Elisabetta Mutty

  • Biography
Born in Padova, Italy, Elisabetta Mutty travelled to Cambridge in 1987 to study English. Whilst here she met her now husband and has spent the last 20 years bringing up their family.

Having seen the youngest child to teenage years, Elisabetta reconnected with her old love and passion for painting. She exhibits in various galleries and art exhibitions. The Darryl Nantais Gallery in Linton has been very supportive from the start and it is where her work is regularly exhibited.

After a successful season with Cambridge Open Studios she was selected to join the prestigious Cambridge Drawing Society which regularly shows her work at the Guild Hall and other venues in Cambridge.

Elisabetta paints mainly with oil, choosing a variety of subjects from still life to landscapes and wildlife. She has an impressionistic style, at times semi-photographic, with a contemporary twist. She enjoys using vibrant colours and creating interesting backgrounds with acrylics and gold leaf. She is not afraid to try something different and has completed a number of private commissions.

Elisabetta has drawn particular inspiration from the landscapes of her native home close to the Dolomites and more recently from the wonderful riverside scenes around her Cambridgeshire home. Pears are one of her favourite subjects and they appear in many of her still life ppaintings.
