About Ed Watts

  • Biography
I am a portrait photographer by trade but when I'm not shooting people I love to point my camera in other directions and experiment. I use pinhole cameras, digital SLR and a converted infra-red camera to make my images.

My main inspiration is the texture of the landscape. For the past year I have been out exploring the South Downs with my trusty assistant, a Whippet named Morse!

For the past three years I have been screenprinting too, seemingly my main inspiration for this is dinosaurs!! So much so that I will be putting on an exhibition in my home town of Worthing spread over many venues, forming the "Dippy The Dinosaur Trail' Watch this space!

I am also working on a project for Worthing Artists Open Houses (an annual art trail in the town). The project is a series of infra-red photographs of #solo-trees mixed with cyanotypes of some of the plants I find on the South Downs.

All my framed artworks are framed by me. Trained to use high conservation standards and using only the finest materials to make beautiful bespoke frames.
