About D. P. Cooper

  • Biography

I am an artist, designer and illustrator from the North West of England now living in the beautiful city of York., I studied illustration at Blackpool and Fylde College. Since graduation, my career has included working as an illustrator for Philips in The Netherlands and as a designer for both IBM and Accenture in France. Since 1999 I have been working as a freelance designer/illustrator.

I was heavily influenced by my father who was a successful transport artist in the UK, and I have been drawing and painting since a young age. I have worked mainly in watercolour and gouache, but have recently begun exploring new techniques using oils. I enjoy painting animals and architectural details, specifically the abstract nature of the light and textures in my chosen views.
